Gerbera jamesonii Royal Semi-Double

Royal Semi-Double is an early flowering and very floriferous series. It develops many eye-catching, large flowers in bright colours.
The plants are medium sized with a nice dark green foliage, and a prostrate growing habit, which is important for the development of many buds.

The series is very uniform and has a short sales period.

Royal Semi-Double is available in 4 different colours:
Pink, Rose, Vanilla and Watermelon.

Sowing Medium:
Lightly fertilized peat.

Sowing:
In trays, i.e. 96 plug tray. After sowing irrigate and cover trays with a thin layer of Vermiculite.
To obtain optimum humidity we recommend covering the trays with plastic.
Gerbera seeds need light to germinate.

Germination Temperature:
21 - 23 ¡ãC (70-73¡ã F).

Time to Germinate:
4-6 days. After germination and before the young plants start to stretch, the plastic must be removed and the trays placed on benches in a greenhouse.

Potting:
6 weeks from sowing the young plants are ready to be potted.

Pot Size:
11 - 13 cm

Potting Medium:
Fully fertilized peat.

Growing Temperature:
Night temperature 18-21 ¡ãC (65-70¡ã F). Ventilation and good air circulation is recommended.
Daytime temperature 20-24 ¡ãC (68-75¡ã F). During sunny periods it is necessary to shade the greenhouse to maintain an ideal climate.

Production:
2-3 weeks after potting the plants must be spaced.
Final spacing: 20-22 pots pr m2.

Growth Regulator:
If necessary spray with 1-2 ¡ë Alar.

Artificial Light:
If daylight is less than 13-14 hours we recommend use of artificial light.

Sales Period:
7-8 weeks after potting.
